Register FOR USA Swimming

Registering for 2024 - 2025 USA Swimming Membership is required by all members of Truckee Tahoe Swim Team. If you are a returning member from the 2024 - 2025 season you are still registered until 12/31/2024. 


  • As a returning member you would still need to register for 2024 and that is open now. 
  • All new members need to register as soon as possible for USA Swimming. 
  • New or returning members that register now through the 1st of the year will stay in good standing with USA Swimming and carry required liability insurance at swim practices. 
  • Validity is from the date of registration in the fall of 2024 through 12/31/2025. 


*First and foremost, USA Swim registration is necessary for liability coverage at practice. Secondary to that it allows you to enter meets and race.  For Truckee that means two racing team options! 

We are utilizing two racing team options for USA Swimming Registration. Sierra Marlins or TTST can be selected. Choose either link to register and race for that team at meets. Either choice has no impact on who we are. We all are part of Truckee swimming, under the Truckee Tahoe Swim Team organization. These two racing options offer more flexibility to our membership to get the most out of their time with Truckee Tahoe Swim Team. It meets our mission statement where all levels regardless of ability can progress in the sport without feeling lost or left behind. 


When you are registering for USA Swimming there are a few options to be clear about when you select the type of registration.


  • Flex Athlete: This is a year long membership that will expire on 12/31/2025. It is a great option for practice coverage, and allows you to only enter 2 swimming meets the entire year. If you decide to go to more than 2 swim meets you will be required to upgrade your membership Premium and pay the difference.

 

  • Premium Athlete:  Anyone that wants full access to all qualified swim meets the entire year should select Premium Athlete. This gives you full coverage, full access to swim meets and you will not have to upgrade later.

 

  • Individual Season Athlete:  This only gives you membership for 150 days. Example if you are selecting this now in September 2024 your membership will expire on 12/31/2024.  It is 150 days of membership with USA Swimming from the date your register and will require you to go back and do it again if you continue past those 150 days.

We will continue to integrate our logo of TTST with the Marlins while both USA registrations options exist season by season. 

USA Swimming 2024 - 2025 registration process for Sierra Marlins.

This is a great super team racing option where Truckee swimmers get to race with a larger contingent of Sierra Marlins from Folsom, and the Sacramento region. It caters more toward the upper ages and times starting around Senior Western Zone time standards and faster. The super team option as Sierra Marlin also allows for more relay option, and super league meet options for qualified swimmers.


*All levels are welcome to choose the Marlins super team option but generally it suits our TTST Senior and National level swimmers best. 

USA Swimming 2024 - 2025 registration process for TTST (Truckee Tahoe Swim Team).

This a great option to race under our team’s local name Truckee Tahoe Swim Team or TTST. TTST has been around for a long time and holds home-grown sentimental value. It suits all levels of the team as a registration option. 


*Returning swimmers that raced in 2024 for Sierra Marlins and want to change back to TTST will require a 120-transition period from the date of their last competition as a Marlin. This all takes place automatically but is something to note if you see your name as unattached TTST at the next meet.
